08 Dec How To Heal Your Heart
“For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.”
How to Heal Your Heart
This scripture reveals how anyone can allow God to heal them by just following a few steps. Here is a step by step guide on how to allow the Lord to heal your heart and anything else within your life that is in need of healing.
SOFTEN YOUR HEART
The first and arguably most important step to take in order for the Lord to heal your heart is to soften it. It says in the scripture that because the people’s hearts are “calloused” or in other words hardened, they simply cannot be healed. The Lord needs a willing and open vessel to work in. We must soften our hearts so that God’s love can flow in and out according to his will.
OPEN YOUR EARS
Once you have completed the task of softening your heart, you will begin to notice a change in your life. You’ll start to feel free from your emotional turmoil and because your senses are no longer clouded by a heart hardened by pain, you can now open you ears and hear the Lord speak. The Lord speaks to us through the Holy Spirit and messages in the bible. Listen to what he says and let his words guide you and your heart.
OPEN YOUR EYES
You have already softened your heart so that the Lord’s love can flow in and out. You should have also opened your ears to listen to the Lord speak. Next, you need to open your eyes. Open your eyes not only to your current situation but the world around you as well. Opening your eyes will show you the miracles of God and will restore your faith that the Lord can perform a miracle on your heart as well. Look around at all of his wonders and reflect on them. The biggest wonder of all is that you’re still alive despite everything that you’ve been through.
PRACTICE UNDERSTANDING
Last but certainly not least, you need to practice understanding in order to let the Lord heal your heart. You must understand that everything will not go as planned in life. Sometimes there will be rain, other days there will be sunshine. Through it all, understand that the Lord is in control and you can and will be on your way to brighter days. Always remember to understand with your heart, not your mind. Your heart is where the spirit of the Lord dwells. So if you understand with your heart, the spirit of the Lord will always make things clear to you and will never lead you astray.
